Cath Jamison - Secret Life of a Womanwith special guests Perfect NonsenseMelbourne International Comedy Festival 2007 New Ballroom, Trades Hall Thursday, 19th April 2007 After seeing Burlesque Idol last week and talking to Erin from Perfect Nonsense over email, she asked if I would come to take photos of them performing in this show. I haven't seen much live magic so I was glad to come. The comedy festival needs more shows like this so people have something different to go to than the usual stand-up. At the moment some acts make it across from the Melbourne Fringe the previous year, but not as many as I would like. It was great to be able to meet Cath before the show and see some of the final preparations also. I also met the lighting tech, but I have forgotten your name sorry. Perfect Nonsense helped out with props during the show and got to do two dances, including the Girlfriend dance and their new routine the Slap Dance with some great audience participation. I don't want to give away what's in the show, but Cath did some great illusions and worked really well with the audience. One of my favourite ones was probably the simplest, the big magnet catching the mobile phone. This show is well worth catching if you are after something different and would be suitable for older children as it is on early and there is not much language.
