Croxton Records Christmas Bash
with the Dunaways, Shackleton, Mrs Wainright, Underminers, Marcel Borrack, Sarah Carroll, Nick Barker, The Re-mains After not sleeping the previous night and waking up with a start at 12pm I rushed up to the Retreat in time to see the Dunaways duo start their set. Like at the Re-mains benefit there weren't many people around at the start, but I was glad to get there early. I hadn't seen Shackelton since the Radiothon so it was good to see them again. Mrs Wainright also played well and I got to see their full set this time after not being able to stay for their Queenscliff set. Not having seen the Underminers before, I thought they played well and I will look out for them in the future. It was great to see Marcel playing again and he did have some young dancers in his set. Sarah was great and I really liked the re-worked version of Ukulele Bitchfight which I hadn't heard since earlier in the year. I still remember seeing the Nick Barker 'Happy Man' poster in the old Espy Star Wars bar for many years, but this was the first time I had seen him play that I remember. Special guests for his set included Michael Barclay, Mick Thomas, Sarah Carroll and Suzannah Espie. The Re-mains were great, but I had to leave soon into their second set as they decided have a short break and ended up having to be rounded up 45 minutes later.
