The DC3 "Melbourne's Burning"

with PB Croft
as part of the Carnival of Suburbia
Caravan Music Club, Thursday 17th March 2011

I didn't know how this gig was going to go as the DC3 (formerly ROOT) are a very new band and I think have only played one other gig in Melbourne. They do have a core fan base, but I wasn't sure if many of them would make it. I was surprised to see how many people did turn up including some of the Caravan Music Club regulars.

PB Croft played well and claimed to be the only band all from Oakleigh, not really sure of that claim but they went well.

Shenanigans ensued with the DC3 almost getting kicked off during the sound check for bad language. The gig itself seemed to go well and the band was surprised that the intro tape got a lot of laughs. Damian Cowell explained later in the show that it was not meant to be a concept show as it would sound bad if he tried to link all the songs together in a theme. I thought the new sounds sounded great and I know they do have a policy of not playing any older songs. The HFW! song should go well and Henry Wagons even seems to like it.
