The Detonators at the Rosstown Hotel
Saturday, 8th July 2006
I wasn't planning on going out anywhere after the show last night and I wanted to be able to go to the benefit show on the Sunday, but Ilana said she really wanted to see me, so that was all I needed to change my mind.
Some people say they have trouble finding the Rosstown, but it is easy enough to find if you just follow Dandenong Rd out the city towards Chadstone. It is on the right at the next major intersection past Monash Caulfield campus, plenty of parking on the street or out the back.
GIT was the last band I had seen at this venue and it turned out to be one of their last shows I saw of theirs. I am sure that is not the case this time as the Detonators have shows scheduled for the next two months.
I thought the Detonators played a great show, but it was a pity no one got up to dance until the last couple of songs. All that dance floor space going to waste. It was also great to have the opportunity to show everyone prints of their show with the Re-mains earlier in the year. They have already seen them on the website, but they look even better printed out.
Even though I knew that I might miss the last tram, I had to stay and see both sets. You can skip ahead and see if I made the last tram home if you want.
