Faster Pussycat Launch
Cherry Bar This night was a rather late addition to my calendar as I was already going to be bust the next day with a CD launch to go to and it was probably ill advised to go out the night before. I had promised to attend and that is enough for me to want to go. I hadn't been to the Cherry Bar for ages so I didn't know if it had changed since I went last. Everything seemed pretty much the same, only with a bit more graffiti around the place. Thanks to Tanya who bought me a couple of drinks on the night also. The Shimmys were up first and it was great to see them after a long break. I thought they played well and they also looked like they enjoyed the fashion parade and the band that played after them. Surprisingly I was grabbed by the arm and lead to the band room to take photos of the models before the fashion parade. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it. The fashion parade was really great and thanks to the other photographers for giving me some outstanding lighting in a few shots with their flashes. I also was able to take some photos of the models after the show and took some interesting shots. The Booby Traps from Sydney finished up the night, I thought they played well and were a good match with the Shimmys earlier on. I didn't stay to see all of their set as I was a bit tired by then. Everyone looked like they were having a good time though. I thought this night was great and I am definitely going to take my friend to Faster Pussycat for a shopping trip once I have paid off my credit card a bit more. She loves the Rockabilly style of clothing and they look great on her. Usually I don't like spending a lot of money on myself, but I would consider some of the clothes they have at least so I could match my friend when we go out.
