Friday 10th July

Celery
Pure Pop Records

I had been to see Little Freddie and the Pops at Pure Pop the Sunday before and looked up the Myspace for Celery, I thought her music sounded good and wanted to see what she was like live.

Surprisingly there were a lot of people there for a Friday when everyone is usually very busy. Also dead silence as soon as Celery started singing, which is unusual as there is always some background talk in a bar or venue when people are playing.

Cheers to Dave from Pure Pop from recommending to come down and hopefully Celery gets to play around town more in the future.

The Bad Kills
George Public Bar

I had meant to stay at the Pint and have a quiet one, but I heard from my friend and decided to go down to the GPB to see the Bad Kills.

By the time I arrived their support band had already played, but I am sure they went well.

The last time I went to see this band I didn't have my camera on me, but they played just as well this time and they have been getting a few people for their June/July residency.

Cheers to Adrian and Emma who also enjoyed the band and got a lift down to the Vineyard with my friend and I.

The Flyin' Saucers
The Vineyard

I had been meaning to go see the Flyin' Saucers for a while, but hadn't been able to get to their gigs out of town.

Quite a few bands I know have played at the Vineyard, but I had never been there myself as I thought I wouldn't be able to get in.

The Flyin' Saucers were doing three sets and finished at 2.30am in the morning, but I only stayed for one set, I am sure everyone had fun and I hope to get back to see them in the future.
