Grand Final Eve 2007
with the Hybernators & Fuck Fucks With the Grand Final eve gig being a tradition in Melbourne it was always going to be a good night and I had been looking forward to this gig for weeks as the Fuck Fucks don't play as often as they used to and it was good to see the Hybernators again. The Hybernators were up first and got into the spirit by donning team colours. I liked Nancy the best in her Doggies gear as she even wore the shorts and socks. During their song 'footy' I even copped a footy in the nuts thanks to Fred, which seemed an appropriate thing to happen even if I wasn't too pleased at the time. The Fuck Fucks put in a stella grand final eve performance with one long set including some extra long instrumental interludes in Here and Beer Sandwich including Fred's patented sucking on Tristan's guitar. Other entertainment during their set came from Nancy and Anton wrestling in the audience and Fred being carried on the shoulders of Antman and Bernie at one point. It was a great gig and I am looking forward to the Box Wars gig with the Hybernators gig next week which should be even more energetic. |
