Nici Blue Eyes, The Snowdroppers, Kooky Karaoke

Greyhound Hotel, Sunday 16th November 2008

Nici Blue Eyes hasn't played for a while, so I was looking forward to seeing them. They have changed their line-up somewhat and hopefully it works out well for them. Members of the Screwtop Detonators were also at this gig to lend their support. I will ask Nici if she wants to come see some of the bands I go to see next time I see her as they would be good for her band to play with.

The Snowdroppers already had their big show in Melbourne last night at Paula's book launch. This was just a wind down gig for them and they only did the one set this time. They should have done two sets as all the bands had finished by 7.30pm and that is far too early to start karaoke so most people left.

Having Mirage Kebabs back next door is great as you don't need to leave to get something to eat if you turn up after the BBQ is finished. Next time I will have a better strategy of dealing with extra garlic sauce if I ask for it.

I ended up staying a bit longer than I usually do for the karaoke and even got to watch Johnny climb up on top of the door and jump off. I was not drunk enough to get up and sing this time though.

Meanwhile...across town Craig was seeing the Joelenes.
