JVG Stopping All Stations (Except East Richmond)
with JVG Guitar Method, The Orbweavers Duo, Mick Thomas, Greg Macainsh, Jane Clifton, Gary Adams, Dan Warner, Ian Bland, Monique Dimattina, Marcel Borrack, Bob Starkie This was the big gig for the week and the highlight of the Carnival of Suburbia for a lot of people I have since heard. The basic show followed the format of JVG's Radiothon and BBQ day shows with a bit of the Grand Final Eve show thrown in as the JVG Guitar Method got to play. There were too many highlights to list everyone individually but a few stood out including Ian Bland and Gary Adams poems, the lovely performance of Spotswood by the Orbweavers and the full performance of the Punt Rd Trilogy by the JVG Guitar Method. The big finale was Greg Macainsh and Bob Starkie performing some classic Skyhooks songs with lots of people dancing up the front and the encore was a chorus of "East Murrumbeena" from everyone who had been involved in the show. It was great night and hopefully can be and annual event as part of the festival. I did get to talk to JVG and some of the other musicians after the show and they all had a good time.
