The Junes Country is Cool Winter Dance
with Andy Baylor's Cajun Combo and special guests Garrett Costigan, Craig Pilkington and Adam Simmonds I had been looking forward to this gig for weeks and not even a cold, bad weather or the tram tracks being ripped up on St Kilda Rd were going to stop me. It was great to see a gig at Bella Union again as I hadn't been since the Something Good tribute night and Casey Bennetto's Half-Arsed Three in the same week back in April. Cheers to Catherine and also Jo and Phoebe who looked after my stuff so I could take photos of the show. The Junes played first and did a great set with some special guests. They did play the full album of "12 Golden Greats" but a bit out of order as it worked better that way live. Before Andy Baylor's Cajun Combo, Emma Bee took a Cajun dance lesson who Gleny helped me out with by being my dance partner. I also got to dance with Sarah and a couple of other women I asked during the band's set. As I was dancing I didn't take as many photos during Andy's set, but I am sure the other photographer took some more. It was a great night and I look forward to seeing the Junes in the future and hopefully another Winter dance next year.
