King Cannons Single Launch
with the Hornswagglers, the Knockouts, Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnies So many gigs added and crossed out for this day I didn't know what I was going to see. Sarah and Luke both asked me to come see King Cannons on their CD launch so that was enough to get me to come. I hadn't seen the Hornswagglers since earlier this year with the Hybernators so it was great to see them again. Much amusement was provided with the lead singer slipping and hitting his arse on the foldback (you can see some of the band members laughing in my photos.) Even though I can't be sure where I have seen the Knockouts before, I know I have seen them or at least one of the guitar players around somewhere before. More of a traditional rockabilly set. Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnies had to rush over from the Suitcase Royale's CD launch across town, which they said was very busy. Instrumental music that had a lot of people dancing with one song at the end with lyrics. It was my first time seeing King Cannons so I didn't know what to expect. It was good they were able to fill the Tote on a Thursday night as I have been to a gig there on the same night where I was the only person there apart from the other bands on the line up. Lots of NZ expats having a good time and new fans too. Also a lot of girls taking their own photos up the front, which was good to see. Hopefully the band will play more around town and more of the rockabilly crew come to see them as I know a few people who would like them once they see them.
