Matt Joe Gow and the Dead Leaves

with Kkrista Polvere & Matt Green, Ryan Meeking and the Better Health, the Hello Morning
Ding Dong Lounge, Thursday 3rd April 2008

My friend sent me a message the day before this gig so I decided to come as I don't get to see her that often and also it was an excuse to get out of the house during the week.

As with the last Thursday night gig I went to at the venue, there weren't too many people there for the first couple of bands, but I thought Krista Polvere and Ryan Meeking and the Better Health went well.

By the time the Hello Morning started, there were a few more people in and my friend turned up so I went to say hello to them and some people even started to dance to the band.

Matt Joe Gow and the Dead Leaves turned out to be great and I didn't expect them to have a pedal steel and double bass player from what my friend had said about them. I wish more people had've danced though as there were lots of songs they could've done so to in the set. Hopefully they will get a more active crowd at the Retreat in a couple of weeks time like the Re-mains enjoyed for their show.
