Texel Rising

with Al P, Ben William and the Dead Sets
Pint on Punt, Saturday 7th August 2010

Toby told me about this gig a few weeks ago when I had already booked in for the film festival, but I was happy to move some of the films out of the way so I could come see his first gig with his new band as Toby always used to get up to sing at the karaoke when he was working at the Pint and one of my photos with him singing with everyone from the Pint down at the old Greyhound used to be up on the bar.

It was like the gigs of old at the Pint with a big line up and although I hadn't heard of any of the bands that played with Toby's band before, I enjoyed them and so did all the other people who arrived early. Cheers to Al P for agreeing to go on first and having to compete with the Pies vs. Cats game.

As it was Texel Rising's first gig I knew they weren't going to play for too long, but I did enjoy them. I don't know when they are going to play next, so it was good to see their first gig and I am sure they are going to play some time in the future around the place.
