Black Rabbit, The Hybernators, GUTSTK, The S.I.G.I.T

Pony, Sunday, 10th June 2007

I hadn't been to Pony since 2005 so I didn't know how the Hybernators would go there. After a big night on Saturday and having two other events cancelled on the Sunday afternoon I was pumped to go to Pony that night and even rang one of the bands to make sure.

Black Rabbit started off proceedings and I thought they did well considering there were not that many punters about.

The Hybernators are now the band I am most likely to go see after the Twits and Suzannah Espie/Sarah Carroll and Trish Anderson's groups, so I made sure I was on time for their gig. It was good to have a drink and chat to them before and after the gig as I don't often get the chance to.

GUT has now changed their name to GUTSTK, but Ox still remembered me even though I last saw his band play in 2004. They had a really great set and Ox mixed it up with the punters much to their amusement.

The Super Insurgent Group of Intemperance Talent (The S.I.G.I.T) are another band I hadn't heard of, but I thought they went really well. Playing in the ever popular 2am slot, the place was packed out for them which was great to see. They are touring from Indonesia where they are meant to be really popular and it will be interesting to see if more bands from South-East Asia tour in the future.
