Ramblin' Fever
Melbourne International Film Festival 2010 I had been looking forward to this gig every since I opened the MIFF program to see Ali and Jules from the Wayward Fancies as I hadn't seen them for a long time. The gig was part of the film festival to go along with the Merle Haggard documentary, which I didn't get to see but heard people enjoyed. It was lovely to see the Wayward Fancies again and hear about both Ali and Jules new bubs. Even though I was going to see them again the next day at the Tote, I enjoyed seeing Bakersfield Glee Club again after quite a while since I had seen them last (when the front bar of the Greyhound was still open before the renovation.) It had also been yonks since I saw Hank play with his band and it was a great way to finish off the night. Quite a few people stayed to kick on, but I had a big day coming up at the Tote and stopped in at the Pint on the way home just as the conga line came out the front door of the pub singing "500 miles" and went in the back.
