The Rebelles

with Wild Turkey, Kinematic
Retreat Hotel, Saturday 15th January 2011

I hadn't seen the Rebelles August last year so I was looking forward to seeing them again. I had heard about having to line up to get into the Retreat Hotel on the weekends but had never had to before. It would have been a lot better if you didn't have to put up with the hoons driving past yelling out obscenities.

Something I did not expect was to find Wild Turkey playing in the front bar and my friend watching them. I did get to see the last few songs of their set and say hello to my friend who I hadn't seen for a while.

Kinematic are another band I hadn't seen before, I thought they went well and I got to say hello to some of the girls from the Rebelles. I know some of them now, but I would not recognise them if they took off their wigs and matching costumes.

As the stage in the dining room is a bit small, the Rebelles had to stand in two rows and it got pretty crowded in the room. It was great to see all the people who usually go out to the beer garden staying to see the band and lots of girls singing along.

It was a great show and I will try and go see the Shambelles in the future, who play the same genre of songs and share members with the Rebelles.
