The Re-mains

St Kilda Bowling Club, Saturday 22nd November 2008

It was raining sideways and I had to go to a 30th birthday on the way, but there was no way I was going to miss this gig after waiting about six months to see the Re-mains when they announced this gig. As I had told Mick, I could've gone to see them at the Retreat the night before, but I wanted to put the money I would have spent on the taxi across the bar.

Also this gig was the welcome back party for Toby and Jana who had been living in Cairns for most of the year. I wished that more people had've come down from the Pint, but there was a big cover band playing there and they needed everyone to work. Also it was pissing down rain most of the night and too hard to walk down.

As the night wore on, I couldn't hear the words as much, but I could still dance to the music. Winnipeg Girls and Darn Tootin' where great to dance to. Also they played Gold Wig that I had never heard them play live ever before. There were some special guests including Scotty and the fiddle player. Even though the crowd was a bit light-on due to the weather it was still a good night. I even went down to Topilinos for pizza afterwards and made it back to the Pint afterwards to say goodnight to the bar staff.
