6Ft Hick Notes from the Underground Documentary Media Launch

with Gruntbucket
Cherry Bar, Wednesday 9th February 2011

I had been looking forward to seeing the SixFtHick doco, but I don't get ABC2 at home so I wasn't sure I was going to be able to see it. Luckily I was invited to the media preview in Melbourne before the premiere on TV last week.

The documentary followed the band's tour of Europe with Andy from Digger and the Pussycats driving. I enjoyed the footage of the live performances and also video from the origin of SixFtHick, the play "Dead Country Livers" in the 90s. There was an AWWWW moment when Ben Corbett had to ask for bucket and a rag to clean up his own sick backstage.

For some reason I thought the band would play afterwards, but they didn't make it this time. Digger and the Pussycats were meant to play but couldn't make it. Gruntbucket played instead and I only stayed for a few songs. I am sure everyone else who stayed had a good time.
