The Eggs, Pure Pop Records

I hadn't seen the Eggs play since my birthday so I was looking forward to seeing them do a set at Pure Pop and also see Chris playing with the band for the first time in months. It was good that it was not so hot this time and a few more people turned up. It was also good to hear who the Eggs do covers of as I hadn't heard of some of the artists (Dim Sim Head?) Hopefully their new album comes out this year so they can play some more gigs. Cheers to Fudge, Kat and Deb and thanks for the drinks.

There going to be a big day there for the St Kilda Festival on 11th February with the Croxton Records artists, but I try to avoid the festival these days. Hopefully it goes well though and I am sure everyone will enjoy themselves.

Suzannah Espie & the Last Word, Greyhound Hotel
with special guest Matt Walker

Their first gig at the Greyhound Hotel this year and quite likely their second-last gig ever at the venue (depending on what happens after March.) I know the Pride March was on at the same time, but I didn't want to be walking around all day and didn't want to miss any of their set.

I was going to have a rest from taking photos, but Matt Walker was playing with them so I decided to take a few just for a record of events. There was a queue of people to talk to Suzannah after the show, so I just said hello and went next door to the karaoke.

Kooky Karaoke, Greyhound Hotel

There were a few more people in than usual after the Pride Parade so it was a good night with a lot of people to get up to sing (some more than once.) Cheers to Alicia and Nick who I sat with again. Even Pommy Kev got up to sing so he could at least wear "his" hat temporarily.

John and Fred keep asking me to get up and sing but I would rather go up with a group of people like with the Pint on Punt crew for Coreyoke on Corey's birthday last year.

I don't know if I will keep going every week, but I will call in if I am going past and it is still early on a Sunday night.
