The Band Who Knew Too Much Farewell Show
with Master of Ceremonies Dr Pump, Organ Boy and Downhills Home
I have been seeing Dave Evans and Dan Warner busking on the way to work recently. As I don't want to get in too early I usually stop and say hello. This is where the first few photos in the set came from. Before the show Jordie Lane tried to get me to come to his show next door instead, but I like to see the support acts so I had to decline the offer this time.
Dr Pump was the master of ceremonies and luckily just avoided the crowd turning on him by the time he introduced the Band Who Knew Too Much. Pumpy is Pumpy as always.
Organ Boy from Coonabarabran was up first and it was good to see someone different to start off the night. That organ is going to be a prick to lug around town, but I am looking forward to seeing more of him in the future.
I hadn't seen Downhills Home before, but their songs were familiar as I must have heard them on RRR recently. I thought they went well and I will look for them in the future.
The Band Who Knew Too Much came out firing and it was a dance frenzy in the crowd as well as being very busy on stage. The room was so packed a couple of blokes lined up 10 pots on the stage so they wouldn't have to make more than one trip to the bar for the night. I didn't know the band had such a young crowd coming to their shows, but I am sure their gigs at the Spot would have something to do with it (the venue is already advertising their return show in September!)
It was a lot different to the times I had seen them at the Greyhound and Pint as they do benefit from being on stage and hamming it up. I am sure they will have a great tour in Europe and I am looking forward to seeing them when they come back.
