Tim Rogers - The Luxury of Hysteria Album Launch
with the Hamptons (unseen), The Temperance Union and guests
The cold I had been expecting all week hit with full force today, but full of Sudafed and Vodka, I still managed to make it to this show and I was glad that I did. Unfortunately I missed the support act as I should have asked what time the doors opened instead of the stage time for the main act (next time.)
I have seen quite a few times now at festivals and the Community Cup, but this was the first time I have seen him perform in his own show. It was great to see so many people there for the launch and the Greyhound crowd (hello to Heather, Ally and Julian Wu.)
Thanks to Tim Rogers for the tickets and sorry I couldn't get better but I tried anyway and had to put my camera away two songs in when the person sitting next to me bitched (I wasn't using a flash.) Some kids with camera phones may have gotten a better shot from up the front.
It is a very good album from what I heard at the launch and I will try to buy a copy next week. I finally was able to see the Temperance Union play a few songs in the encore after Pumpy asked me to see them a couple of times and I hadn't been able to yet. I enjoyed the rest of the band too and hopefully will see them around town in the future.
The banter for the night was also great with Tim Roger having a conversation with someone in the front row at one stage. He said it was to make up for it being a seated show where people couldn't talk. I liked the venue and it was the first time I have been there after going past it every day for the last six years. I chatted to the usher and front of house staff after the show and will try to get back there in the future.
I hope the rest of the tour goes well and more people pick up the album as it is something different and well worth your time.
