Tinpan Orange
with Hayward Williams I had been looking forward to seeing Tinpan Orange for quite a while as they had been on tour overseas and I passed up an opportunity to see them earlier this year as I wanted to see them at the Caravan instead. Special guest was Hayward Williams from the US who I thought went well and even made a joke of the tone of the songs he played. It was really great to see Tinpan Orange again and good to see they have a permanent keyboard player who had their first gig with the band that very night. I enjoyed the newer songs also and Jesse's take on the "Like Snow" film clip. The band is also hoping to record a new album in the next couple of months before having a break as Emily is having a baby. After the gig I had a nice surprise with Simoncee also being there to watch the band. I don't usually get the train home after gigs at the Caravan, but I decided to escort her at least to Caulfield as I don't really trust the train that late at night. It turned out OK and I tried not to stay up too late as I had to be up early the next day.
