Wash Winter's Willies Away With Whiskey VI

with Bakersfield Glee Club, The Re-chords, Tracy McNeil, Fergus and Adam / ROLLER ONE, White Elephant, Little John, Chris Altmann & Que Paso, Clinkerfield, Brothers Grimm & the Blue Murders
The Tote, Sunday 25th July 2010

I had wanted to go to this event for the past three years but I either had something on or no money to go when it came around. I was determined to make it this year even if it did mean I had to miss one of the films I really wanted to see at the film festival. As I was very busy afterwards I didn't get the chance to go through the photos for a long while after I would usually.

Bakersfield Glee Club had played the night before at the Forum but it was still good to see them.

It was strange to see the Re-chords on so early in the day, but they had another gig on at the Retreat so they had to leave early.

I hadn't seen Tracy McNeil since she supported Eilen Jewell earlier in the year, so it was great to see her again.

Fergus and Adam were good, but as they were quiet it was hard to hear them at times with everyone talking.

Around this point in the night I went down to Smith St to get dinner, only just making it back to see the last few songs of White Elephant's set. It was still good to see them and I am looking forward to seeing them again.

I hadn't seen Little John before, but I thought they were great and they had a lot of fans.

One of the highlights of the day was Chris Altmann & Que Paso, with a few people turning up just to see them. I am looking forward to their CD launch at the Thornbury Theatre already. I wondered why the ladies were screaming out for Zane, but it turned out it was his missus and her friends.

Clinkerfield were great also and it was good to finally see them after only seeing Jimmy doing solo stuff beforehand.

Brothers Grimm & the Blue Murders were good too, but I had wanted to leave at 10pm as I had to work the next day and I had already been there since 2.30pm that day. I will try to get back to see them in the future.

It was a great day and I also enjoyed the compilation CD that I received when I arrived. I am looking forward to the next one and going to see the bands again in the mean time.
