Attack of the 5ft Woman - Kelly Ann Doll Fundraiser

I first saw Kelly Ann five years ago as part of the touring "Absinth Club" show that was down from Sydney at the time and when Kelly was still living in NSW. In the years since she has moved down to Melbourne and has done a lot of shows, but I have not been going to as many burlesque shows myself. I always try and keep up to date with what she is doing and I really wanted to come to this show as I might not ever get to see her again, so I wanted to give her a good send off. I had been off work sick that day with what I later found out was tonsillitis, so I couldn't drink much and it was a bit hard towards the end, but I am still glad I made it.
The performers were a wide variety and I had seen a few of them myself, with quite a few that I have not seen before. It was also the first chance I had to visit the Red Bennies venue even though it had been open for a while now.
Kelly herself had her own performances through the evening, with the event being MC'ed by Madam 'Mama' Natalia and some other burlesque and mixed performances by Kelly's friends. There were some interesting acts in there and I would look out for some of them in the future.
I left at 11.30pm after the main acts as I was a bit tired, but I am happy enough to have given Kelly a present and donated something to the auction. I am sure everyone else had a good time and I will see how I go about making it to shows at Red Bennies in the future.
