JVG Radio Method RRR Radiothon Spectacular 2011

with the Large Number Twelves, The Nymphs, Stephen Cummings and the Housewreckers, Phil Wales & David Bridie, Livingston Daises, Weddings Parties Anything, Sweet Jean, Dan Warner
RRR Performance Space, Sunday 21st August 2011

I had been sick recently so everything I was planning to go to got a line through it, I was disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing some of them. I had stayed at home most of the week so I could manage to make it to this show for a couple of hours on the Sunday. I tried going to a gig just the week before and didn't even make it through one set before I had to go home.

It was good to see the Large Number Twelves up first as they usually play later in the line up. I haven't seen them for a while now.

It was a nice surprise to see the Nymphs as the Wolfgramm Sisters usually play in the same slot. Hopefully they can do some more shows with JVG in the future. I also liked watching them read out the subscribers in the studio.

Stephen Cummings played well this year and I look forward to seeing him in the future.

Phil Wales & David Bridie did a good song together in the studio which the people outside said went well, as I couldn't hear it in the studio.

The Livingstone Daises is a new band with Van, Cal, Liz Stringer and Michael Barclay, I thought they went well for only their second live performance and they even got to have another go.

Weddings Parties Anything played a couple of songs with Pumpy singing for one and Mick the other. There was some disagreement as to who's gig on Grand Final Eve would get the most plugging, but they agreed to disagree.

Sweet Jean read out subscribers in the studio and did a well-received song.

Finishing off the day were Dan Warner with the big band and Pumpy singing "I go to Rio" and then Dan singing the finale song.

It was a good day show and I stayed for a couple of drinks across the road afterwards, but was too tired to make it to JVG Guitar Method at the Labour in Vain so I went home.
