Wally Meanie's Birthday

with the Swarm, the Minibikes, Becky Lee & Drunkfoot, Snout, Even
The Tote, Tuesday 1st November 2011

I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to this gig, but I hadn't seen Snout since New Year's Eve at the Espy in 2000 and I was looking forward to seeing Even again.

I had never heard of the Swarm, but it turns out that it was one of Ash Naylor's first bands. It was a bit quiet for the first band, but the people who made it there especially to see the Swarm were very happy to see them.

It was great to see the Minibikes again, I am looking forward to their CD launch next year already. Libby Chow is playing with them full time now.

Becky Lee & Drunkfoot was interesting, but she had trouble with her kick pedal so it kept being interrupted.

Snout bolted out the gate and it was great to see them again after all this time. Hopefully they will play another gig sooner rather than later.

Due to things running over and the bands starting a bit later Even didn't start until a bit later so I left after a couple of songs. It didn't help people behind me saying they "deserved" to see the band more since they were bigger fans, deserved my foot up their arse more like it, turning up five minutes before the band starts when I'd been there all day.
