with Tessa & the Typecast, Renee Cassar and the Private Life
Toff in Town, Thursday 1st November 2012
I was only asked to come to this gig that day and as it turned out even the band did not turn up until half an hour after the doors opened. Luckily I did manage to get in and get to see Tessa and the Typecast perform as I have been wanting to see them since I heard their song "Painter" (they did not do it.)
Renee Cassar and the Private Life played second with a few more people in the room. I will see how I go with their future gigs as they did ask me to take photos at this gig and in the future.
Was not sure about Playwrite, but as usual the room was full just before they started. The Toff in Town is a small room, but the band seems to have a good following with a good range of ages. Having the bright lights on stage did make for some interesting shadows, but it also made it very hot, some of the band looked like tomatoes towards the end. There was an interesting song where the lead singer went out into the audience and sat down, leading to everyone else to do it at once (I did not have any room to.) I also enjoyed the song where they sang back from the microphones and did the fake end to.
It was a good night even though I missed seeing the Half Arsed Three again, I will have to try and see them again next year.
