Grande Ole Twang VI

with the Grand Ole Twang Boys, the Cartridge Family, Robert Ellis, Elizabeth Cook, Little Bastard, Mr Cassidy
RRR Performance Space, Saturday 2nd February 2013

It had been a while since there had been a Grande Ole Twang, I forgot there wasn't one last year as I was so busy with other things.

Even though I did not get the front and centre seat this time, I was happy to get a seat in the front row and not have to stand at the side. For a change there were a few other photographers due to the international guests. I liked the new stage decorations and lighting in the performance space and the sound baffles on the walls.

The Grande Ole Twang Boys started with a rousing "Y'all come!" and also mixed in with the Cartridge Family at times.

Denise MCed and Tim Thorpe did the live reads for the sponsorship announcements throughout the show.

Robert Ellis was the first international guest and I thought he went quite well. Rusty Rich even joined him on one song.

Elizabeth Cook was also in town for a few shows and is more traditional Nashville style country as she explained she was at Tamworth and would have done well there.

Little Bastard were my favourite new act on the day and I will try to get to see them play a longer set in the future.

Mr Cassidy is a new band with the partners of two famous performers forming their own band to play country. I thought they went pretty well and hopefully they had a good gig later that night.

Even though I usually go for a drink afterwards, I was tired and wanted to go get an early dinner and then home.
