Style Me Spiegel – A celebration of vintage styling

I had heard about this event, but wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it. Thanks to Mikelangelo for contacting me the night before and asking me to take photos.

The previous event, an Indigenous fashion showcase had just let out when I arrived outside the Speigeltent. Looks like it would have been a good event given some of the dresses the models were wearing.

I was lucky enough to get into the venue early so I could get a good spot. I decided not to sit down this time so I could move around. For some reason a lot of the photos turned out blurry, but I still took more than enough of the fashion parades.

The event itself was a mix of fashion, music and style advice with musical performances by Mikelangelo, Simoncee Page Jones and Dave Graney. There was also a men's style panel that included Mikelangelo's father and some notable fashionable men about town.


Gypsy Wood did a routine at the start and introduced each of the fashion parades that featured clothing from her private collection and her mother's vintage clothing store.

There was also judging for the audience best dressed award and a dance up on the catwalk at the end with Mikelangelo, Gypsy Wood and the models.

It was a fun day and I will try to go see Mikelangelo in the future if I don't already have something on that night.
