Tasmanian Bushfires Benefit at the Tote

I had cleaned out my change bucket to donate to the Tasmanian bushfires appeal, but I am always happy to help take photos at any charity events if I can make it.

The last gig I had been to at the Tote was in November for the Popboomerang 10th anniversary and I had mostly had a rest in January except for the Classic Albums series at Pure Pop.

As it turned out I did have work the next day so I decided I would have to miss the last couple of bands or I would not get home until 12am and have to get up at 6.30am the next morning. It was a long enough day as it is as I arrived around 1pm and ended up leaving after Mike Noga at 8.45pm.

The Gallant Trees were fun and it was a pity it was really just me and a couple of other people when they started, they were good sports for going on first and I will try to go see them in the future.

It was great to see Ange Boxall again after she played with Chris Altmann last year. I was able to get a family photo with her and the bub also.

I did try and make it upstairs to see the bands playing, but after Wally Corker it got too hard (they spent most of their set getting ready) and I just stayed downstairs.

Witch Hats were really loud, but I thought they went well.

It was good to see Tim Crossey, Will and Cal after their set and I took some photos of the ex AFL footy players who made an appearance also.

Rounding off the day wear Monique Brumby, Matt Bailey and Mike Noga which was enough for me, no need to be greedy.

I was happy to hear that the day raised $5000 for the Tasmanian bushfire appeal and hopefully everyone else had a good time.
