I had planned to go to Tracy McNeil's album launch on the same night, but only found out about this gig the week before when I was at RRR for Karen Leng's final show so I changed my plans.

The line up had two bands I had not heard of before, but that was OK as I was sure I was going to at least be able to see Giraffe Party.

As it turned out even walking down from home I still arrived early and got to see all of the Falling Standards and Winter Sun's set. There were a few people who made it at the start and then had to go off to see the Bittersweet Kicks as it was the going away gig for Brendan Charlie. It is hard to find a night with nothing else on so that is understandable.

This was the first full line up of Giraffe Party for a while since Johnny has either had a hand injury or could not make it. Les has been replaced by Richard Garth for now and there is a new drummer. Elizabeth is still the giraffe go go dancer which was good to see.

While it was a good show, I wanted to be able to get home on the tram so I had to leave before Fiona Lee Maynard and her Holy Men started. Just in time as it started raining on the way home and I managed to get a connecting tram which rarely happens. It was good to see all these bands and I hope to see Fiona and Giraffe Party in the future.
