The Junes "Country Con Queso" Album Launch 24/04/14

I hadn't seen the Junes for ages so I was looking forward to this gig. As I have been going to Anna's Go Go Academy for a while now I go to Bella Union quite a bit and was there the previous evening, I did not stay for the Folk Club though, maybe another time.

First up for the night was Peanuts doing songs from Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass who a lot of people who have an album of, but never would have played. There was a good horn section and hopefully they play some gigs in the future where people dance.

The Junes had all the special guests who helped record their album except for Queen Margot who could not make it. There was a stand-in washboard player.

It was a great night although it finished a bit early, I thought more people would stick around due to it being a holiday the next day. Maybe next time. I had a gig the next day that was meant to go for the whole day but I did stick around for a little bit.
