Love for Lou - a Rock'n'Roll wake for Lou Reed

Mikelangelo asked me to come along and take some photos and I was happy to as I had missed the other tribute gigs to Lou Reed last year and this was one of the first big gigs for the year for me.

It was a great line up and I enjoyed all the songs even the ones I did not know as well. There were a wide range of tracks and some spoken word, the only albums not represented from Lou Reed's output were Metal Machine Music and Lulu.

The spoken word pieces were interesting and even including a mock interview with Patrick Donovan who really interviewed Lou Reed in the past.

Although there were some problems with sound on the night and people talking during the quiet songs, it was still a great night and one dude wearing a Lou Reed t-shirt had the best night ever.

There is plenty of scope for another tribute night in the future as they really only scratched the surface with Lou Reed's songs. Congratulations on everyone involved and I hope to see all the artists involved soon.
