celebrating Mexican Independance Day
with Marachi Los Romanitcos, Mexbourne Dance Group, Abbie Cardwell and the Chicano Rockers
Federation Square, Sunday 14th September 2014
I had enjoyed seeing Abbie Cardwell and the Chicano Rockers at their album launch and it was Abbie's last gig before she went away to Mexico again so I was looking forward to this event. Also I finally got to see Marachi Los Romanitcos after following them for quite a while. While there only a couple of thousand Mexican nationals in Australia, the culture of Mexico has made a big impact via the influence of the USA and the food is quite popular at the moment.
There were quite a few people watching Marachi Los Romanitcos when I arrived including people singing along.
The dancers were great and even had people dancing along in the crowd.
As with the Polish festival, it was very busy down on the river side with all the food stalls serving thousands of customers.
It was a good day and I was glad that I made it. I will try to see Marachi Los Romanitcos again in the future.
