Mikelangelo - City of Dreams at the Melbourne Festival

I had been following the progress of the new album and even supported it via Pledge Music and had dinner with Mikelangelo and Saint Clare as a reward so I was not going to miss the Melbourne Festival show.

The band sounded interesting and I enjoyed hearing the tracks from the new album when I received it, I had not been to a show at the Festival Hub before so I was looking forward to that also.

I enjoyed the show and also the audio visual aspect as I don't often get to see gigs with a big production outside of the lighting. It is hard to get a photo of a lighting effect as you have to focus on smoke in the air but I have tried. Some of the lights went right down the barrel of the camera so I did not get anything. I tried to sit as close to the front as possible so I could take more photos.

After the show I did get to talk to Saint Clare but Mikelangelo was busy and I felt like getting an early night, I will stay around longer next time to have a chat. It is a great album and hopefully Mikelangelo will perform some songs off it in the future at some other gigs.
