Grand Ole Twang 9

I had enjoyed the last Grand Ole Twang and did not want to miss it. For this time I ended up sitting up the front as there were already people taking photos on the day.

Sarah was off touring so the house band for the day was the Grand Ole Twang Boys with Suzannah Espie who also opened and closed the show with "Y'all Come".

Special guests for the day included Sam Outlaw, Justin Townes Earle and Whitetop Mountaineers from the USA and the T-Bones locally.

I did enjoy seeing all the acts and the Whitetop Mountaineers especially as Martha got to do some flatfoot dancing.

The T-Bones finished off the day with a rocking set as they had recently had their 30th anniversary.

I was glad to have finally seen Justin Townes Earle as he has been out eight times and I have never gotten to see him. There was the Out on the Weekend festival last year but I left early.

As Denise said I would like there to be more Grand Ole Twang shows but it depends on what else is going on at RRR in terms of outside broadcasts and other events during the year. I had to leave straight after to go to a comedy festival show but next time I will try to walk down to B.EAST for dinner.
