Moomba Birdman Rally 2015

Yarra River, Sunday 8th March 2015

I enjoyed going to this last year after several years of missing it and this time my sister and her friend were coming down to watch also.

As there was a chance I would be able to get them VIP viewing tickets as well managed to catch them at Flinder St station when they arrived and went down to see Scott setting up. Thanks to Scott for giving up his VIP tickets as I told him I was coming but did not know I had extra.

There were around the same amount of entries as last year. Scott even had corporate sponsorship courtesy of BoxWars meaning more money raised for the charity he was supporting.

Due to a stiff breeze blowing up the Yarra a lot of the craft seemed to stall in mid air and did not make it that far. The eventual winner for the Hawks category had been an entrant for 11 years and knew what to do.

I had a gig to go to straight after so I did not hang around, my sister and her friend went off to have lunch and enjoy Moomba. I will try to make it again next year depending on my circumstances.
