Suzannah Espie "I'm Sorry" Single Launch 12/07/15

I had been looking forward to this single launch for ages and also Suzannah's new album. At least there is not an entire year to wait like last time.

The terrible weather that was predicted for the previous day turned up just as I was about to go out and I ended up commuting during a torrential downpour and even the trains stopped running at one point (trams can go through anything).

Sarah did the opening set and played some nice songs.

Special guest for the day was Clare Wright, whose talk at the Wheeler Centre inspired Suzannah to write the single. The song "Mr Right" on the last Junes album was written for Clare's husband after he made Suzannah a table. Clare had not met Suzannah before she started working on the song. On the day Clare presented the same speech she gave at the "Epic Fail" event but in a much more intimate environment. I thought it went very well.

As it was a single launch the single was presented first as Suzannah said they tried to do a band version but it did not work too well. For the single launch there were several of the special guest backing vocalists that helped record the single. For the album launch hopefully everyone can make it which will be a big night.

It was a great launch and I was so happy with it that I wanted to go to the one the next weekend which I did.
