Danny Walsh Banned Rock'n'Roll Circus

Guests include: Talei Wolfgramm (RocKwiz), WAM & DAZ (Dave Graney and Will Hindmarsh), Ian Collard, La Bastard, Cayn Borthwick (No Zu), Dandyman (Daniel Oldaker), Ruby Rubberlegs (Rani Huszar) and Monster Mick Coates.

I had been invited to this gig the previous week and saw Danny Walsh Banned play in store at Basement Discs on the Friday so I was looking forward to the gig.

Dandyman was the MC and had a few tricks of his own, most of which worked out but he had trouble getting anything out of the audience as happens at this venue.

WAM and DAZ featuring Dave Graney and Will Hindmarsh were up first and were suitably strange.

Rubby Rubberlegs provided much excitement by squeezing herself into a tiny box, not that the audience was going to give one quarter.

Even La Bastard had trouble getting people excited, one wag quipped that the audience must be on formaldehyde seeing the photo of the guitarist on the table and people not even looking at him. Ana got to have a dance off stage to her own band at least and I will try to go see their going away gig as they are always fun.

Mick Coates was joined by the "Mashettes" to do the Monster Mash just before the main band started.

Danny Walsh Banned did get people to stand up and dance at least especially when the keyboard player played some of his songs. Special guests including Talei Wolfgramm, Ian Collard and Cayn Borthwick. I have not been able to buy any CDs for some time but I will try to do so in the future. Craig even got to play lagerphone with the band which he seemed pretty happy to do.

It was a good concept to have the circus/variety type show but might work better at a different venue/later time. I will try to get to see Danny Walsh Banned in the future some time also.
