JVG Radiothon Spectacular 2016

Due to various issues I have not been going out as much as I usually do but I still wanted to make it to this event. So much that I had to leave a gig I was at the night before so I would make it home early enough to be able to get up in time to make it to this show after putting the photos back on my computer. Even though I left the previous' nights gig early I still had more than enough photos.

Still testing out my new camera so I decided to try and manage with just the main lens for the camera as it seems to do much better in low light and I may not need to swap over as much unless it is really dark.

I did get to say hello to a couple of people before the show but as usual everyone is very busy. As always with gigs in Melbourne there are not many people at the start but you don't really need to mention it since people won't come down if they think no one else is there.

Ian Bland is still overseas but he delivered his poem by other methods as he always manages to.

The first song by David Bridie and Phil Wales was a bit different and I thought it went well.

Between songs there was a studio read of subscribers and sponsors letting each act set up and have a short sound check. There was a bit of a slow start but it picked up towards the end.

There were quite a lot of people on the line up this year with my favourites being Dr Pump, Suzannah and Dan's big number at the end. I also enjoyed seeing the singers from the If You See Her Say Hello group again as I missed their gig earlier this year.

After the show I did get to have a drink with Dan and a few other people over at the pub but left before the band started. Was at home by 6pm. Another excellent Radiothon show and I am looking forward to RRR BBQ Day at the end of the year now.
