I Spit on Your Gravy at the Tote 07/12/18

with BATZ, James McCann and the New Vindictives, The Poppin Mommas
The Tote, Friday 7th December 2018

I had heard about this gig a while ago so was looking forward to it. The last time I was here to see the band was the 10th Anniversary of Robbie Rocket's death. Was a few too many dickheads at that gig so I ended up watching most of it from outside.

Due to seeing the show at Fed Square I arrived to see the last few songs of BATZ but was glad I did as they sounded great and Billy Watts is in the band. I got to talk to him later on in the night.

I was glad I still had earplugs as James McCann and the New Vindictives were loud. I ended up going outside a bit and listening to the Elvis show next door.

The Poppin Mommas played well and I had not seen them since the last gig they played here. Ox told everyone to put "00" in their phone and then dial the next number if it looked like he was having a heart attack.

Unlike the last time I Spit on Your Gravy instead of early so they could keep drinking. No Scott Stix Simpson this time so Fred sang his songs. As Careless Navigator said they play a lot better these days as they actually know how to play their instruments. Now if Fred would just do an Editions reunion I would have seen almost all his bands.
