Melbourne Fringe Festival 2011
The Tote, Saturday 8th October 2011
I wasn't sure I was going to make it to this gig after being interested in it initially. I hadn't seen most of the bands and didn't know anyone who was going. I thought I should just see how it would go and I could easily go back up the road to the LuWOW for another drink if I didn't like it (I had been to the GEM the same night also.)
The bands all did a half hour set each with one or two Cramps songs each. I hadn't seen Pearls or Hissey Miyake before, but I thought they went alright.
Super Wild Horses played as a supergroup for the night with their own special guests and did several Cramps covers including one of the most popular ones "Pussy do the dog".
Richie 1250 & the Brides of Christ also went alright despite having two new members on the night, I will try to go see them again.
After this I went to get a glass of water and lost my spot at the front for Teen Archer, plus there was someone else photographing by then so I decided to leave. I meant to get home early but still didn't manage it going via the LuWOW, Old Town Kopitiam Mamak, Barbarion bumping out at the HiFi Bar and finally getting a taxi at the Domain Rd Interchange and not getting home until 3am.
