with Howl at the Moon
Caravan Music Club, Friday 6th July 2012
I had been meaning to go see the Toot Toot Toots, but I seemed to be busy whenever they had a gig on, so I was glad they were playing a gig out at the Caravan. I was a bit tired from staying up to watch the Tour de France so I ended up leaving a bit earlier than usual, but it was a good show.
Howl at the Moon were up first and I thought someone had put a track on with PJ Harvey by mistake, the lead singer really does have that sort of aura about her and I look forward to seeing them play again soon.
I was at the Wash Winter's Willies Away With Whiskey gig when the Toot Toot Toots last played at the venue, but had heard they had done well. This gig also went well and they managed to get quite a few people up the front dancing by the time I left and I heard some people got on stage later. The funniest part was when one of the audience members whacked the singer on the leg during Rooster Crow when they did the pause in the song, the first time that has happened supposedly. I also enjoyed the material off their new album and it would be good to see them do the whole thing in a show, I will see how I go. This band should be more famous than it is and hopefully they get to play alongside Graveyard Train and Brothers Grimm in the future.
