Northcote Social Club, Friday 25th February 2022
I wasn't originally going to go to this one but due to losing my job I passed on going to see Pollyman the week before and George had already asked me about this one when I came to the Even gig in the same venue the month before. On the way to the show I stopped into the mini gig Georgia Fields was doing outside the state library. I left early as I thought I was going to be late. Could have stayed later as I got to the venue and hour and a half early and had to go for a walk.
It was great to finally see all of Folk Bitch Trio after only seeing one of them support Mick Thomas just before Christmas due to COVID close contact isolation. Was too many people talking during their set I thought.
Was great to see Bones and Jones again as I haven't seen them for ages and even Jasper is doing solo gigs now. I remember George, Fenn and friends playing at the Foot in the Door stage during Queenscliff so often they got told to come back and play in a regular band.
For the last part of the show Folk Bitch Trio came back on and both bands played as a supergroup including songs off the split EP. The Talking Heads song is not officially released but has become kind of their signature song so I got a video of it. Cheers to the person in charge of Bonsai Records who I talked to on the merch and also told me that it was the result of someone losing a bet that a bra was thrown on the stage during Bones and Jones.
Even though I did not get home until late it was worth going and I just ended up staying home the next day.
