I didn't know if I was going to be working or not when this show was on but as it turned out I needn't have worried as I did not get a job until later in the month. This is being written at least a month after the event as I had been waiting for someone to clear their photos but it seems they have forgotten. If they really had a problem they would have gotten in touch by now.

I had heard of this event before but could not make it in the past and it has not been on the past couple of years.

Jessi Leigh was the MC and had her own commentary to add before and after each performance.

Before the show I took the opportunity to have a look at the photos in the exhibition downstairs and enjoyed them.

It was a different sort of show with each of the people in the line-up either doing a couple of songs, a spoken word performance or dance that defined International Women's Day to them.

While I had seen Kerryn Fields, Sarah Carroll, Brooke Russell recently, I had not seen Kat Mear for ages and she was meant to be at another event I went to but was getting ready to go overseas.

Frankie van Kan is also someone I had not seen for quite a few years, 10 years it seems from the last time I saw her at Dr Sketchys. Someone else is running that event now and it has not run for several years but Miss Muse and Top Secret Life Drawing seem to have taken over from it.

It was great to see Neda Rahmani do her spoken word piece as I mainly know her from her music.

Ferri Maya was great and I have drawn her before during online life drawing and photographed her when she performed with the Tarantinos doing their anniversary gig for the 20th Anniversary of Dusk til Dawn with the python. She is very busy so it is was great to get to see her.

It was a great night and I am glad that I went to it. I will keep an eye out and try to go to future ones.
