with MC Michael Crane, Jack Kong, Dan Warner, Jeff Lang, Alison Ferrier, Rebecca Barnard, Shane O'Mara, Charles Jenkins, Monique Brumby
Memo Music Hall, Sunday 12th June 2022
Michael Crane had asked if I could come to this in 2021 when it was originally meant to be for Valentine's Day but it ended up being bumped to later in the year.
Instead of the one theme it had the performers doing a spoken word and then a song based on a poem. It was a different sort of concept but I thought it worked well.
I had already seen almost everyone on the line-up which was great. It was a lot different watching a show from downstairs as I always seem to be upstairs with the plebs unless I book early for a table seat.
Dan Warner got to do only the second performance of his song Goldilocks based on his experiences in St Kilda as he said it would not really fit in his normal gigs. I enjoyed Alison Ferrier doing a spoken word and suggested she should do some spoken word recordings as she read one of Michael Crane's poems.
As I didn't have to work the day after and the Peptides gig wasn't on until later I ended up staying until we all got kicked out of the hall. Was a great show I hope they do this concept again with some different performers.
