I ended up waking up way too early as happens on the weekend and did not need to be at the venue until 3pm. I took it slowly as I could and went and got breakfast nearby and even went to the State Library to look at old newspapers which I hadn't done for ages. I had forgotten my charger cable back at the hotel and probably could have gone back to get in and still had hours to spare. As it happens I just ended up turning my phone off for most of the day.

For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to try and walk from the city to the Abbotsford Convent, I abandoned this idea at Parliament Station. It was still 2kms to walk down from the 86 tram and I got there 2hrs earlier than I needed to so I just read the Terry Pratchett biography I have for review for about an hour and waited for people to arrive.

This was a different sort of day from the previous day, everyone only got to do one or two songs each and it was running late from when it started so I just ended up giving up seeing everyone. I did not know many of the bands so it was no loss to me. I had only been in the old Punters Club once before it closed and then only for five minutes with a bunch of other people when we were walking down Brunswick St one night.

Standing up all the previous day kicked in also and I started to get a lot more tired and cranky and wanting to sit down more even though there were hardly any chairs. In the end I just walked as soon as Angie Hart finished and heard Klinger playing as I was walking to the bus. I was in bed at the hotel by 10pm.

It was a great day but hopefully next year they run this event over a couple of days and give the bands time and space. I know some of them have not played for a long time, but having less bands but giving them more time to put on a show would be more satisfying and not have everyone rushing around.
