Caravan Music Club, Sunday 12th November 2017

This was written in 2026 as I realised, I only had these photos on Facebook not on my website.

Pete had told me in July that the Caravan Music Club was closing in its' current form, but promised a big send-off at the end of the year. My dad had promised to drive me down so I didn't have to worry about getting the train or being stuck down in town.

Was hard to pick a highlight of the day. This was the very last time I saw Chris Wilson perform, which I did not know was going to be the case at the time. By the time I had moved back to Melbourne he was already diagnosed as stage 4 pancreatic cancer and I would not get to see him again. I did send him a letter but not sure if anyone read it. I have since sent a lot of stuff to Sarah including Christmas cards I draw each year.

I did end up going to the "new" Caravan Music Club while it was open in East Bentleigh, a lot easier for me to get to as I was living in Hughesdale for 6 months in 2018. COVID knocked that on the head and they had Archie's Creek Hotel going by then. I usually go over at Christmas with my dad but not this year as I had COVID and Mary and Pete were still sick. Maybe next year! I passed on going down to see Mick Thomas on New Year's day as I saw him at the Corner Hotel and never asked the people who went down to see him if I could get a lift.
