Devil Doll 2011 Calendar Launch
with performances by Vesper White, Miss Nic and Strawberry Siren For various reasons I have not been going to see burlesque recently, but I had been looking forward to this calendar launch for months and months and I also enjoyed the launch last year that was on the day of my birthday. I also liked the Queens of Lowbrow exhibition and it was good to see they had sold quite a few works already. By the time the performances started for the day there were quite a few people around. Also lots of calendars were sold on the day and I even bought one. I hadn't seen Vesper White for quite a while and it was good to see her again with a partner in her performance who looked like a young Tony Martin. Even stranger was that it was film-themed and Tony is a big film buff. It was great to finally see Miss Nic perform and I enjoyed her adorable doofus persona on stage with the bear and the honey. So many performers and very serious and wouldn't do that with the bear and the honey. Strawberry Siren has been doing a lot of great things since I last saw her and it was also excellent to see her again. Unfortunately all the girls had shows to go to that night so I did not get to talk to them afterwards. It was a good day and I am looking forward to next year's calendar launch and Helen's new exhibition early next year.
