Eilen Jewell
with Fireside Bellows With Eilen Jewell's show at the East Brunswick Club selling out and not having a way to get to any of her festival appearances, I was glad to here she was playing at the Caravan Music Club. A lot of other people would have been happy to hear it too as I saw a lot of people I knew at the gig. It was great to see Fireside Bellows play again after seeing them last time in December for the one-off "OBC Folk Club" gig with two other groups. I wish I had been working recently so I could have purchased Eilen Jewell's CDs off her friend Joofy on the merch stand. It was a great show and I was surprised that she did the whole two hours without even having a set break half way through. By far the most people I have seen at a gig for the Caravan Music Club as people were standing up the back, out in the beer garden and sitting on the floor in front of the stage. Eilen Jewell's banter between songs was great also, she played Loretta Lynn songs when she wanted to change the mood and said her new CD will be her playing in a band called "Butcher Hollow" that plays Loretta Lynn covers. I hope Eilen Jewell has a good tour and Suzannah has a good time playing the support slot for her next week.
